So it has finally been unveiled – the mythical tablet device from Apple. Reviews have been mixed so far, no built in camera, no built in SD ports, as of yet no mention of multitasking, large bevel only 1GHz processor. Yet on the plus side the software seems awesome. Beautiful interfaces, new ways to interact with a computing screen, new platform for iPhone apps.
As a software developer needless to say I am excited. I can’t wait to get my hands on a fully loaded real live device with all the accessories I can get my hands on. To be fair it is just the first iteration. The first iPhone had it’s share of disapointments and the current one still does. Still no flash for the camera or the browser! The first round may not be for everyone despite the suprisingly affordable price, but this the apps will ultimately determine the success of this machine, the hardware changes will also come eventually.
The hype was so loud it would have been impossible to live up to the expectations unless it had a built in projector and could roll up like a newspaper, in my opinion. So this is pretty much what I expected. Like breaking off the screen off a small mac book and leaving the keyboard part off.
Will be tough but will wait an extra month for the 3g version. Will be playing with the other versions at the Apple stores until then. Weigh in with your opinions please.
